but not if you're a cat! My world is a pretty good place to be. Though I have to tell you that hard wood (or laminated wood ) floors are not nearly as nice for dogs as carpets. But I can put up with them as long as we keep our comfortable couch and chairs, and my Guy's soft lap! I hear them talking about getting a new bed matress but I hope they don't. As my Guy says, this one's been good for twenty years so why change now.
I went with my adopted parents to the Kid's football game the other night. I know it didn't turn out quite as they wanted it to but the Boss said she was happy just because the Kid didn't get hurt. I kind of watched most of the game from ground level through a lot of other people's legs and I have to tell you it looks like a pretty silly game from that angle. I can understand why dogs don't care much for it. By the 2nd half I was glad I went back to the car and napped until it was over.
I was also happy to stay home on Saturday when my Guy and the Boss went over to the high school to watch something they call Volleyball. They were gone most of the day so I got some real good napping in that day. I don't know why this family can't just be satisfied with watching all these sports on the TV here at home (which they do a lot!) where I can be a lot more comfortable.
Oh, speaking of sports, the Oregon Ducks "ran over" Utah State on Saturday but it was the other way around with the Oregon State Beavers who suffered at the hands of Penn State (wherever that is) the same day. I hear a lot about Ducks and Beavers in this house so I'll try to keep you all posted as the season goes along. Speaking of football I just walked out to the living room and, surprise, there's a football game on TV. I think the the 3rd or 4th one today, I guess I'm going to have to start being a fan.
The Boss is kind of getting on me about my weight. I don't know why but probaly just because I can't jump up into my chair anymore at dinnertime. I tell her it's only because I'm getting a little older -- and besides my Guy doesn't mind lifting me up.
Speaking of dinner, I can smell it cooking so I better get ready. "What does a dog do to get ready for dinner?" you ask. Take a nap, of course!
Keep the peace, and be nice to every dog you meet -- but try to avoid cats at all cost!
